Moab Jeep Tour on Hell’s Revenge 6/10/2024

Oh, what fun! We had a private tour with Portal Jeep tours, our guide Jason took us up the Moab mountain rock trail called Hell’s Revenge. We didn’t know Jeeps could do all we did that day. Crossing narrow rock summits, climbing straight up and straight down. and so much more. Seeing gorgeous views of the Colorado River and even dinosaur footprints.

On top of the world! Our Jeep parked sideways on the left.
This is how the tour started. Balancing on a ridge that just kept going up and up. No guardrails just a long way down.
It was an “Aw S@#$! Moment” when we all realized this was no ordinary ride.
Waiting for others to come down. Then up we go. The black on the rocks is from years of climbing 4×4’s with underinflated tires.
Jason keeping his eye on the road. Actually, there are no roads.
Wow what a view! Margaret, Karen, Nancy and our guide Jason
The Mighty Colorado River!
Forgive the shaky picture, but this part is called Hell’s Gate. It is a long bouncy climb up between two slopes like a V. People watch at the top to see if you can make it, lots have not. Rollovers happen. Jason got us up like a pro.
Portal Offroad Tours does not disappoint. What an experience.
Snow on the surrounding La Sal mountains. Reaching nearly 13,000 ft. some snow lasts all year long.
Dinosaurs lived here.
Jason explaining the dinosaur footprints.
Dinosaur footprints. So cool!
Don’t look down!
Going Down. Straight down. This road drops off the rock like 8 ft. Jeep grips the wall with tires at around 12 psi.

Thanks Jason! Great ride!
