We spent a night at Time Away RV Resort in Lincoln, AL. Walking distance (across the street, basically) from the famed Talladega Superspeedway. There are quite a few RV places around here, although most seem to be just for racing season. Time Away is a park in the making; unlike the racing-focused parks, it has a nice pool, fenced dog park, etc and is building a nice shower and laundry facility. Still rough around the edges, the efforts to improve the park are evident. Clean park, easy access and quiet. The owners just purchased a small neighboring RV park and plan to expand.

Of course, we HAD to watch ‘Talladega Nights’ (for the first time) while we were here. Ricky Bobby was not to be seen, though I have no doubt he’s around somewhere.
