Blue Water is on Galveston Island with the Gulf of Mexico across the street. The resort is a long strip that used to be known as John Wayne airstrip but now has the resort with a canal on one side and marsh on the other. There’s an on-site restaurant, rec building with sit to stand desks, large TV, games, laundry and large pool area. They do have a small shop, playground and fenced in dog park as well.

The sites are decent sized, and they are currently building patios with tiki huts on most. You can fish from several locations in the resort or in the Gulf itself. We drove the Jeep along the Gulf, took walks and saw great sunsets.

Unfortunately, there was a cold snap, lots of blustery wind and temps went from 71 to 19 one day. Well, can’t predict the weather, right?
