The historic portion of Mesilla is really legendary. The Mesilla Plaza with its gazebo is registered as a national monument. The Capitol Courthouse, also listed on the Historic Register has original 18-inch mud bricks and is where Billy the Kid was on trial and sentenced to hang. Yes, it is still there and in use daily as a souvenir and craft shop. The Basilica of San Albino is beautiful and I loved the ringing bells.

We were really looking forward to White Sands and it didn’t disappoint. We drove thru the park, stopped at several areas to climb the dunes and sled down. Lots of fun and laughs! Would go again in a heartbeat.
