On the first leg of our cross-country trip we stopped by Centerville, VA. Bull Run Regional Park was a nice stop with lots of Civil War history all around. Visited the site of the 1st and 2nd Manassas Battles. We also took a driving tour of some of the important sites around the area. Nancy’s sister Linda and her husband Matt stopped by with Champagne and dinner on a chilly night and sat by our fire. Much appreciated!
The Park also hosts a 2 1/2 mile drive-thru light display, ending at a holiday themed Winter Wonderland fair, complete with ferris wheel, food vendors and more lights. From our site we were close to a section of the display, so watching the “snow” lights thru the trees was magical at night.
While at Bull Run, we went to visit where Jeff had spent a few of his childhood years in Manassas, VA. He has many fond memories from there and had fun walking around his old neighborhood.
